The College offers senior students both the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, which are both two-year courses, recognised for university entrance worldwide and providing senior secondary students with a comprehensive, international education which are beneficial for students to enrol in the world's top universities.
Students' performance has always been amongst the best in Australia. In 2019, 6 students achieved an ATAR of 99.95 (a perfect score) and the median ATAR was 94.88. Since 2000, more than 70% of PLC girls have achieved an ATAR of 90+, placing two out of every three girls in the top 10% of all students in Australia.
Boarders at PLC come from Australia and around the world and it provides an opportunity for girls to become more confident and independent, with support and guidance from professional staff. The boarding house accommodates approximately 100 girls and is a welcoming and supportive place to live and thrive on-campus. It has music practice rooms, beautiful grounds, exercise and games room, computer rooms, dining room, TV lounge areas and wif-fi throughout.
The Performing Arts Centre is state of the art, with a 550 seat theatre, music school, performance and practice studio, drama and music rooms.
The Learning Resource Centre is home to thousands of books, magazines and online resources for study or recreation. There are IT and multi-media labs, AV editing and recording suites for students to use.
From Year 7, students learn two new languages and can choose from Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Indonesian, Japanese and Latin, which can all be studied until Years 11 and 12. The College also offers English as a Second Language.
As part of the PLC community, students have access to a range of extra-curricular clubs, over 20 different sports, public speaking and debating groups, outdoor education, leadership and service, overseas visits and exchange programs.
